If you’re planning a visit to the farm in Snohomish, WA this spring, you’ll have no shortage of fun activities to enjoy in the area. Here’s a snapshot of what you can enjoy with friends and family this spring.

April

“Eggsplore” in Lynnwood

We’re pretty sure you’ve never heard of an event like this before. Beginning March 4 and extending until May 6, “Eggsplore” Lynnwood has two phases. First, large eggs are decorated by local artists and placed at businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout the city. Families can then hunt for the eggs via a special mobile app, or go the low-tech route with a paper scavenger hunt. Collect all the eggs and you’ll be entered in a special prize drawing.

When the Egg Hunt ends, the decorative eggs will be exhibited at Lynnwood City Hall and auctioned off, with the proceeds benefiting numerous nonprofit human service providers in the area.
Snohomish on the Rocks
Interested in fine liqueurs? This event is for you. Taking place April 28, attendees have the opportunity to meet leading Snohomish-area distillers, sample their products, and gain insights into how different spirits are conceived. 100% of the event’s proceeds go to GroWashington, a small-business development center that’s assisted 2,000+ local entrepreneurs since 2011.
Wine, beer, and food-tasting fests
April in the Snohomish area is a gastronomist’s dream, with numerous wine, beer, and food-tasting fests happening. In addition to Snohomish on the Rocks, here’s a glimpse at other upcoming events:
  • The Kirkland Wine Walk on April 20
  • The Leavenworth Ale-Fest April 20 - 21
  • The Cheese and Meat Festival in Seattle April 28
  • The Bacon and Beer Classic at Safeco Field in Seattle, April 28

May

The 65th Annual Everett Rock & Gem Club’s Gem, Jewelry & Mineral Show

Take a trip to Everett May 5 - 6 and enjoy one of the area’s longest-running gem, jewelry and mineral shows. Crystals and geodes, fossils, silversmithing, jewelry making, and kids’ activities are all available, along with much more. Plus, admission and parking are free.
The Rick Steves Travel Center
Throughout May, the Rick Steves Travel Center in Edmonds hosts engaging travelogues brought to you by world-renowned travel guide Rick Steves. Poland, Ireland, the Basque Region of Spain and France, and several other enchanting locations are on-tap for discussion. Travelogues typically run 60 - 90 minutes.

June

Berry Dairy Days
One of Skagit County’s oldest festivals is Berry Dairy Days, set in Burlington, WA. The weekend of June 15 – 17 marks the 81st installment of this event, which celebrates Burlington’s impressive farming and agricultural history. Plenty of family-friendly activities are scheduled, including live music, a salmon BBQ, fireworks, and plenty of tasty strawberry shortcake.
Skandia Midsommarfest

Scandinavian blood or no, the Skandia Midsommarfest on June 24 in Kenmore promises a good time for all. Celebrate traditional Scandinavian culture through music and dance performances, food booths, traditional costumes, flower crowns, and of course, a recreation of the millennia-old pole-raising ceremony.

We look forward to seeing you at this spring at Hagen Family Farms, and invite you to stay at our Snohomish farm. Contact us today for reservations and a full activities list.
